Eligibility & Applying for FASFA

 To be eligible to receive federal or state financial aid, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Have a valid social security number
  • Be registered with Selective Service, if required
  • Be enrolled in a degree program
  • Have no felony drug convictions
  • Not be in default on any federal funds or owe a refund on a federal grant
  • Make satisfactory academic progress

No FAFSA is required for international students.

To apply for federal financial aid (FAFSA):

  • Complete your FAFSA or renewal FAFSA on the Web at: http://www.fafsa.edu.gov or call 1.626.369.2372 to receive a printed copy.
  • List The Art Institute of Colorado as a recipient school on line number 97 of the FAFSA (section 8 on the Web). Our school code is 013961.
  • If you file on the Web, make sure you receive a confirmation number and save the number for your records.
  • Keep a printout of the FAFSA data from the Web site or make a photocopy of the paper version for your records.
