To creativity and beyond

Here's (almost) everything you ever wanted to know about entry requirements, tuition, what our catalog has to say, and even more.

Enrichment Programs

The Art Institute offers many enrichment opportunities for students, from guest speakers to internships and trips off campus. Recent speakers in the Visiting Artists Lecture Series include photographer Sean Kernan, Kathryn Peaslee and David Gibbs of the Los Angeles animation company Panopoly Pictures, and Scott Jones of Southern Living magazine.

Odyssey Program
The Odyssey Program at The Art Institute of Atlanta provides students seeking significant off-campus educational experiences the opportunity to learn through travel to selected domestic and foreign locations. The Odyssey Program creates new trips each year, and in the past has sponsored trips throughout the world, including Austria, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, and Turkey, as well as the northwestern United States. While most Odyssey trips are scheduled during quarter breaks, quarter abroad opportunities may also be available. These domestic and international educational adventures allow students to travel, explore, and immerse themselves in cultures and design concepts, art and architectural history, and the culinary arts studied in class. The cost of the trips is in addition to regular college tuition and fees, but may, in some cases, be included in the student's overall financial plan. To qualify for participation in an Odyssey Program trip, students usually must be full-time for two consecutive quarters prior to travel.

Internships for Academic Credit
Many upper-quarter students qualify academically and professionally to work for academic credit as interns with cooperating employers. Internships provide an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience. Credit is based on an evaluation of work completed during the internship. Tuition and fees for internships are based on the number of credit hours approved for the internship by the department chair. Internships may be paid or unpaid.

Off-Campus Programs and Trips
Field trips such as visits to galleries and museums provide varied program and course-related activities beyond class work.
